Update: It seems that The Orchard is the one to blaim. They are recieving money from Apple and should send it to the artists. The weird thing is they distribute artist like Beck and Coldplay. Mmm… are they being ripped as well? What a strange story…

This has nothing to do with Steve Jobs. It has everything to do with the negligence of the distributor. Apple is not negligent in this matter. If I were the artist I’d be attacking The Orchard.
FWIW, Steve Jobs doesn’t have a salary with Apple. All his cash-flow comes from Pixar. He is paid in stock, but his annual salary is $1.

Yes, you are right, Orchard is the one to blame. But still… Steve Jobs is filthy rich… not that the dollar of Apple helps ;)
